The short walk for June 06th will start from the Down gate common car park at 10:30AM length of walk is around 3 miles and time around 1.5hrs The walk will cross the common under the railway bridge follow the canal to Freemans marsh and return to the Down gate for coffee/lunch No stiles, no steep hills it could be muddy in places Please let me know if you are staying for lunch/coffee

We hope to arrange a regular 'monthly walk' of between 4-7miles, generally on the third Tuesday of the month. If anyone would be interested to lead one, please get in touch with the coodinator via the contact page.

We start at the Crown & Anchor Ham, the walk is a circular walk around Ham hill loop and return and this walk is around 4.75/5 miles 2.5hrs Start 10.00am at the Crown and Anchor Ham parking at the pub if eating if not parking in the road near the pub The longer walk has a stile and uphill parts to the top of the ridge on the return section the descent is steep and walking poles are required there is also a shorter route with out the hills 2/2.5 miles 1.5hrs The shorter walk follows the same route for the first part of the walk but there are no stiles or big hills and also finishes on the same route. ( Only available if someone will lead this) Please let me know if your staying for lunch.

Park in Bagnor Newbury RG20 8AQ at 10.30 am - near village green. We will be lunching at the Hartley Arms in Donnington. A circular walk from Bagnor along the Lambourn way, Woodspeen, Copse barn and Bagnor manor. Lots of rivers , bluebells, primroses and views. Could be muddy! Car-share if possible. Please let me know if staying for lunch at the Hartley Arms.

Both the walks will start at the Plough at Eastbury RG17 7JN at 10:00am. PLEASE LET JOHN KNOW IF YOU ARE STAYING FOR LUNCH. The walks have no stiles and all being well we should see bluebells in the woods. The pub has a decent size car park but only to be used by walkers using the pub after the walk. There is limited street parking in the village as the roads are narrow, car share if possible. Several inclines and declines some of the tracks have very loose flints, Length is just over 5 Miles the walk should take around 2.5/2.45hrs, Poles and good walking shoes will be needed, circular walk from Eastbury to Lambourn via the Lambourn valley way and the Greenways up to Lambourn woodlands and back to Eastbury. SHORTER walk available. Please let us know if you’re staying for lunch or coffee.

The starting point and optional lunch will be at the Three Tuns, Great Bedwyn, SN8 3NU. Park in their car park if you're stopping for lunch, or on the road if you're not. It's a gentle uphill walk by Shawgrove Copse, returning via Hatchet Lane and the Kennet and Avon towpath. There are no stiles but there will probably be mud and puddles - I'll be wearing my wellies and taking my walking pole. Please let me know in good time beforehand if you'll be lunching so I can let the pub know numbers.

Start from the carpark at the Jack Russell pub in Faccombe, SP11 0DS Parking there if you intend to stop for lunch or coffee. A short walk around the footpaths in Faccombe, one slight rise but no stiles. Could be muddy, walking boots and sticks advisable. Let me know if staying for lunch so that I can let them know.

10.30am Start at Littlecote house car park (the public car park to left of the house when coming down the drive.) The walk is a circular walk from Littlecote towards Ramsbury. No stiles. May be a little mud. One steep hill (not that long) a seat half way up good views over Ramsbury. Most of the walk is on hardcore. Lunch at the Pelican pub in Foxfield please let us know if you will be lunching so we can give the pub a rough number of people taking lunch.

A circular walk from Great Bedwyn, going round the edges of Burridge Heath and Bedwyn Brail with woodland and open countryside. There are some hills but they're mostly gentle. It's likely to be muddy in places, but there are no stiles. The starting point and optional lunch will be at the Three Tuns in Great Bedwyn, SN8 3NU. The car park (for those having lunch) is small but there's street parking on Forest Hill further up from the pub. Please can you let me know beforehand if you're coming on the walk and whether you'll be stopping for lunch.

A circular walk from the pretty village of East Garston through farmland, the Berkshire Downs with stunning views and the Lambourn Valley Way. Start point: East Garston Village Hall, Back Street, East Garston, RG17 7EX. Parking at the village hall or considerately on the road. The walk could be described as strenuous as it takes in some steep climbs but there are no stiles. It could be muddy and walking poles are recommended. Park at Postern Hill Car Park, Salisbury Hill, Marlborough SN8 4ND (at the far end, if possible) A circular walk around Savernake Forest exploring much of the beautiful forest including several of the named oaks and the arboretum. Reasonably flat terrain with one or two small inclines. Brink a drink and a snack and a perhaps a walking pole. Optional picnic after the walk in the forest. (weather permitting)

The walk will start at the Stockcross recreational ground. If approaching from the A4, when you reach the crossroad, B4000, turn left and carpark is on right at end of houses. Much of the walk is on tree lined paths taking us through the Bagnor Estate, passing the river Lambourn with its beautiful clear water. There are several inclines, but not too steep, some nettles and it can be muddy and slippery in parts after rain, poles advisable, Please let me know if you are stopping for food & drink at the Red House Marsh Benham. ( No pub in Stockcross)

The walk will start from the Swan at Wilton at 10:00am, the walk will go through the village then across the countryside to Wolf hall farm then down to the kennet and Avon canal returning to Wilton. Distance aprox. 5.4miles 2hrs 45mins 2 stiles 1 very short steep down hill section down steps across a stream, 1 steep up hill section near the end of the walk. Could be very muddy in places walking poles/sticks advised. The walk will start at the Pelican at Froxfield at 10:30 am and head to Oakhill over the bridges to the North Standen road then we will head Juggs wood crossing the road, canal and railway then head to Little Bedwyn church crossing back to the canal and return to Froxfied along the towpath returning to the Pelican Length 4/4.5 miles 1.45/2hrs please bring a drink No stiles no big hills just gentle inclines. Starting at 10.30am - Park and meet in the village of Bagnor RG20 8AQ (near The Blackbird pub which is now closed) This is a circular walk from the village of Bagnor taking us through woodland and paths in Snelsmore Common and around the ruins of the medieval 14th century Donnington Castle. There are no stiles but there are a few inclines, and one steep slope. Walking poles recommended, due to uneven ground with tree roots. If you require a lift please let me know. Meet outside Hungerford Town Hall. The walk is a figure of eight and will take us up over the Common, then along the canal path to the High Street, before going on to Freeman's Marsh and returning to Hungerford via the canal path for an optional lunch at the Three Swans. The High Street is a bit more than half way, so people not wanting to go on to the Marsh could stop then. There are no stiles, but be aware that the cows are out on the common. The Marsh can be muddy depending on the weather. Please let me know beforehand if you will be stopping for lunch."

Hills : 1 long steep uphill section near the start of the walk then a couple of gentle inclines 1 quite steep down hill section near the end of the walk Styles : 3 styles of which the last one is quite high The walk is through woodland and open fields with good views of the village of Ramsbury passing a W.W 2 air raid shelter and the memorial for the U.S 101 Airbourne division then back through the village and back to the start. The walk enjoys wonderful views from Gallows Down, Coombe Gibbet and Walbury Hill and returns through West Woodhay. We start at Cobbs Farm for the Bluebell walk we will walk along the edge of the marsh then cross back across the A4 walking up to the Brick kiln cottage then onto the Littlecote road then follow path up to Cakewood and hopefully we will see a carpet of bluebells and back to Cobbs ( could be muddy in places also slippery) There are 2 uphill sections and 1 downhill section which could be slippery no styles. Thursday 16th February 2023 meeting at 10am at The Pelican inn carpark, Froxfield. SN8 3JY We will walk from the pub to North Standen House, carrying on along footpaths to Standen Manor. Here we follow the path to Stype Grange, to Stype Wood following the Long Walk. We pass Jugg’s wood and Oak hill and return to the pub.The terrain is predominantly flat with minor inclines. There are great views, wildlife,flora and fauna to see and hear. The walk is 5.5 miles and will take about 2.5 hours, there are no stiles. Please bring a snack & drink. After the walk you might want refreshments in The Pelican.

This is an easy walk, in and around the village, and visits two managed nature reserves: Inkpen Common and the Inkpen Crocus Field. There are no stiles but it is likely to be muddy. A circular walk along the river, up 34 steps with handrail, to the disused railway line, beautiful views across the valley. One stile, may be muddy, walking boots essential. Meet at the White Hart Inn in Hampstead Marshall (RG20 0HW)at 10:30 AM for a short walk over fields and through woodlands to the edge of West Woodhay and return to Hampstead Marshall A slight climb up past the dogs trust, the rest of the walk is fairly level until we get back to the village which is down hill. Park and meet at Whitegates, Hungerford Park, RG17 0UR (about half a mile from the Kintbury Gate, Hungerford Common) - GR SU 358/679 Circular walk from Hungerford Park to Inkpen Common via Templeton, Inglewood, St Cassian's, Titcomb, Foxhill and The Folly. The walk is quite flat but a few stiles and can be muddy in parts. Optional coffee and lunch half way round about 12 noon at The Crown and Garter Inkpen Common or bring a snack.

Short circular walk - Ramsbury to Ramsbury Manor fairly flat. Circling round to Hilldrop Lane and taking in the countryside around Ramsbury.  One steep stretch, mainly flat. Optional coffee or lunch at the Bell. Parking: Back lane, and MEET at the back entrance to Holy Cross Church, Back Lane, Ramsbury.

Park and meet Shalbourne Village Green opposite the Old Bakery GR SU 3137 6280 Circular walk via Ham, Bitham Lane, Sadlers Road, Anvilles, Prosperous, Upper Slope Farm and back alongside the Shalbourne river. Not too much mud but some stinging nettles. Unfortunately the Plough is closed for food on Mondays but coffees and snacks can be available from the village stores.

Park Gt Bedwyn Wharf and Meet at Gt Bedwyn Railway Station GR SU 2791 6450 - Alternatively catch the 10.20 train from Hungerford to Gt Bedwyn. Walk to The Swan at Wilton via Gt Bedwyn Brail and Wilton Windmill. Take a break at the pub for a drink and/or a lite lunch and walk back to Gt Bedwyn via Crofton. Plenty of scope to adjust the walk , longer or shorter as befits the group on the day. Trains back to Hungerford at 1.35, 2.39, 3.40 and 4.44.

Park in Marsh Lane or Smitham Bridge Road and meet at the Childrens playground at the junction next to the river Shalbourne ( GR SU 26/36 331684). Across fields, woods and meadows to Standen House and then via North Standen to Cobbs for coffee or lunch returning via Freemans Marsh and Marsh Lane. Mostly level, about 5 miles taking 2.5 hours including 30 mins for coffee at Cobbs. Shorts not advised because of nettles and brambles.

Meet at the Town Hall for a short circular walk around Hungerford as part of the 2017 Arts Festival (HADCAF). Canal towpath, Freemans Marsh and onto the best view of Hungerford (spot the Town Hall clock) returning via Eddington and the Pepperpot Cottages. Look out for the Stocks! Take a drink and a snack and binoculars if you have them!

Short circular walk starting from Wickham School. Fairly flat through paths, fields and woods, passing through Clapton hamlet. Take a drink and a snack. Parking: At the cross roads in the middle of Wickham take the minor road off the B4000 leading to Welford and Park and MEET near the school on the lefthand side. Optional pub lunch at the Five Bells.

Park alongside Shalbourne village green opposite the old bakery GR SU 3137 6280 Walk to Ham, Ham Hill via Wiltshire nature reserve. Ashley Down, Inkpen Hill and Wilbur Hill, Upper Green Inkpen, Inkpen church, Bitham Lane and Ham to Shalbourne. About 200 m of ascent and 200 m of descent. Bring a packed lunch and drinks. Fine views on the way but with some muddy rutted tracks.
